In spring and autumn, a combination of both is advisable for the warm days and cool nights, so pack accordingly. You are welcome to wear walking shorts and a short sleeve shirt for sightseeing excursions On board Nile cruises we recommend to dress 'smart casual' to dinner each evening. Swimsuits are absolutely fine for the swimming pools and beaches On days that you visit Holy sites (mosques and churches), you preferably wear slacks, long skirts and long sleeves. It is therefore possible to apply for an Egyptian visa on arrival at the border control for the countries that take the visa upon arrival However, it is strongly advised against crossing the land border as information on checkpoints that issue visas on arrival is not always up to date. Thus, applying for a visa on arrival in Egypt can be done mainly at the following international checkpoints: Cairo International Airport Hurghada International Airport St Catherine's International Airport Borg El Arab International Airport in Alexandria Sharm El Sheikh International Airport Luxor International Airport

03-Jan-2025

We chose Sun Pyramids for our trip to Egypt, a private family group of seven persons. Their representative, Martina did an excellent job of preparing the schedule for an 8-day vacation that took us to many parts of Egypt. We explored the Giza pyramids and the Cairo museums including the newly opened GEM, the Siwa Oasis, Luxor and Aswan including Abu Simbel and Nubian village. We also visited Alexandria on the way to Siwa. We had a balloon ride over Luxor at sunrise, tea in the desert at sunset and felucca ride in Aswan. All drivers and guides were professional and always on time: Mervat for Cairo and Alexandria, Mo for Siwa and Ahmed for Luxor and Aswan were fun, knowledgeable and very helpful and polite in every aspect. The accommodation was also up to standard with good breakfast options, although a newly renovated hotel lacked heating (which apparently is required during wintertime!). Strongly recommend Sun Pyramids for your Egypt vacation. ...more ...less

Mahmoud Emam is a walking Google. I'm not sure if he is human, because he knows everything. He is friendly, polite, articulate, and charismatic. We were amazed by the sites and the depth of knowledge he shared. Ahmed Hamama was our driver and him and Mahmoud (our tour guide) arrived on time to begin our journey. Ahmed is a great driver who also is very polite, professional, courteous, and a pleasure to be around. I am fortunate to have chosen the right team to make this unforgettable experience of a lifetime. ...more ...less

Hoda of Sun Pyramids put together a magnificent 2 day package for Bedford Scuba Divers that no one else could offer as we had limited time. We toured Cairo and Luxor in two packed full days even a camel ride and enjoyed every minute. We were able to visit the sights early and great tour guides throughout. We stayed at overnight Hotel Nefertiti in Luxor and it was a lovely Egyptian surprise in Luxor, with amazing views both in the evening and in the morning. 07-Mar-2025

We had a great time in Egypt and thanks to our guide Mohamed Elnoby, who not only took us on a truly amazing three days desert tour as well as a day trip to Alexandria, we got an unique insight into the culture of this rich and fascinating country and got to see places we would never have been able to discover by ourselves. Thank you again and we can truly not recommend this experience enough especially the desert trip (just maybe a second sleeping bag would have been nice as it was quite cold at night in the tent) ...more ...less

We spent two days touring Cairo with Mahmoud Emam and are feeling so blessed to have chosen this company and experience. We went to the pyramids and rode camels, saw historical sites in Memphis and Saqqaura. Mahmoud was very knowledgeable and kind. He has so much information about so many different aspects of Egyptian history and culture and we so enjoyed our time with him. I highly recommend requesting him as your tour guide. We also did a dinner cruise on the Nile River and had shuttle service to and from the airport and had a wonderful driver as well as another tour guide named Mohab for these who we also felt very safe and comfortable with and learned a lot from. 30-Jul-2024

They are expensive enough, they promise 4 star hotels but the hotels are 2 stars, noisy, unmanaged and untrained staff. They won't care about the comfort the hotel may call you at midnight for any request you made at 9.30pm. Breakfast time was 7am, and i reached 7:30am, and it was finished. Customer care may call you at 1.30 am for any issue you face in the daytime. The card they gave me was full of dust as I opened the air through it all went on my face. They promised full air-conditioned cars, but they gave old less functional. The good thing was I canceled the 9 days plan on the 4th day, and they returned me about 40% payment. 1 star is for the refund. I don't recommend it. ...more ...less
