Day 1 : Guangzhou to Huaihua South by bullet train, then head to Fenghuang

Location: Fenghuang

At 7:30am, your guide will meet you at your hotel lobby. Then, transfer to Guangzhou Nan Railway Station (Guangzhou South) to catch a bullet train from Guangzhou to Huaihua South (4.5 hours). Upon arrival in Huaihua South, you will be transferred to Fenghuang Old Town for 1 hour, which is a well-known river town in Hunan Province. There are well-preserved old wooden houses built by Tujia and Miao people beside the Tuo River. At night, it is a dreamy world when all lights are lit on in the old town. Day 2 : Fenghuang to Mt Fanjing, then back to Fenghuang by car

Accommodation Name: Local nice guesthouse in Fenghuang

Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner

Today you will take 2-hour ride to the Mt Fanjing which is situated in Guizhou Province. You will take cable car to the mountain, then walk to the token of Fanjing Mountains, The Mushroom Rock. There are also temples, bridges, rock carving here that are worth visiting. Afterwards you will be transferred back to Fenghuang.

Day 3 : Fenghuang to Huaihua by car, then to Guangzhou by train

Location: Guangzhou

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch

This morning, you will visit the Great Wall near Fenghuang, which is the only Great Wall in Southern China, and it was built in 17th century during the Ming Dynasty. Then you will be transferred to Huahua South Railway Station to catch a bullet train back to Guangzhou (4.5 hours). Upon arrival in Guangzhou, you will be transferred back to your hotel where the tour concludes.

    All of our tours are planned and operated on a twin-share basis, meaning that the standard cost is based either on individual travellers sharing accommodation with another group member of the same sex, or people who book together sharing accommodation. Silkroadtrips are pleased to offer travellers the option of pre-booking a guaranteed single room. Kindly note our single supplement do not include sharing cabins on the overnight trains or cruises.

  • Trains

    Aboard the overnight sleeper train, berths are usually in 1st class ‘soft sleeper’ lockable compartments for 4 which have 2 sets of bunks with clean bedding provided. WC and washbasins are provided for shared use at the end of each carriage. Hot meals and snacks are sold to your berth on all overnight journeys. In times of large demand we may have to travel in 2nd class ‘hard sleeper’ which consists of sectioned off compartments for 6,leading off an open plan carriage. Bullet trains are getting popular, it is very modern with a high velocity of 300km per hour. There are western toilets, dinning car on the bullet trains, and normally for short distance running 1—8 hours.
