Day 1: Johannesburg (Arrival)

Johannesburg is the largest and most populous city in South Africa. It is also the source of a large-scale gold and diamond trade, due to its location on the mineral-rich Witwatersrand range of hills. On arrival at Johannesburg airport you will be met by our company representative and transferred to your hotel in the city. This evening you will meet up in the hotel reception for a briefing on the tour and a chance to meet your fellow travelers.

Day 2: Johannesburg - Mpumalanga (B/-/-)

Depart Johannesburg after breakfast and head for Pretoria, South Africas capital city, for a short orientation tour, before continuing to the Mpumalanga Province, known as “Paradise Country”. Dropping several hundred feet into the lush subtropical region of the Lowveld, we travel via the historic towns of Dullstroom and Lydenburg. After traversing the famous Long Tom Pass, we travel via Sabie and arrive late afternoon into Hazyview, the safari hub of the Kruger National Park.

Day 3: Mpumalanga (B/-/-)

After a sumptuous early morning breakfast, journey up the awe-inspiring Panorama Route with its forested mountains and fertile plains. After viewing the Blyde River Canyon, home to the Three Rondavels, Bourkes Luck Potholes and Gods Window where weather permitting you will have a fantastic view of the edge of the escarpment taking in Kruger National Park.

Day 4: Mpumalanga - Kruger National Park (B/-/-)

The day begins with early morning breakfast, followed by a thrilling open vehicle game safari (with English speaking game ranger) through the Kruger National Park with pre-packed breakfast. Kruger is one of the worlds greatest national parks, home to a stunning array of wildlife. Search for the ‘Big Five (rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, and elephant) as well as prolific birdlife and numerous other game species. The game safari includes a visit to the Anti-Poaching Dog Unit (Project Watchdog), that was established because of the increase in rhino poaching worldwide. Meet the dogs that are trained to track poachers in the field, detect firearms, ammunition and wildlife products that enter and exit through the Kruger National Park gates. A portion of the trip price of this MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experience goes towards ensuring that these dogs receive the best possible care in support of the vital work they do. The experience directly advances UN Global Goal 15: Life on Land. The afternoon is at leisure at your hotel. An afternoon open vehicle game drive is available as an extension to the morning game drive (optional and for own account).

Enjoy an enchanting drive to the tiny Kingdom of Eswatini, an independent Kingdom within the borders of South Africa, known more for its lovely scenery, crafts and colourful indigenous culture. An interactive cultural experience introduces you to the charming people of Eswatini and their traditions. Continue through the capital city, Mbabane, and on to the beautiful Ezulwini Valley for a true African shopping experience at the vibrant Ezulwini Craft Market which is packed with woven baskets, beadwork, and carvings.

Day 6: Eswatini - Zululand (B/-/-)

After breakfast we will continue south before re-entering South Africa. Travel into Zululand, passing traditional round huts and endless vistas before arriving in the Hluhluwe area. Enjoy your afternoon at leisure or perhaps prebook an optional safari in Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park.

Day 7: Zuzuland - Durban - (B/-/-)
Location: Durban

This morning, enjoy a cruise on Lake St. Lucia (weather permitting) before departing for Durban. The journey takes us past traditional Zulu Kraals, Eucalyptus plantations and sugar cane fields. End the tour upon arrival back in Durban in the early afternoon with a transfer to King Shaka International Airport.

What happens if I need to change my holiday date once I’ve booked?
Changes to an existing reservation up to the Final Payment Date, whatever the cause, will incur a $100 per person amendment fee, potential loss of any supplier fees (such as non-refundable event tickets, park permits, and sea cruise reservations) plus any costs for replacement services. On/ after the Final Payment Date, the $100 change fee is no longer valid, instead cancellations terms apply.
