Welcome to the first day of this exciting Egypt and Jordan trip! The Egyptian adventure begins in Cairo, a vibrant city where ancient wonders brush shoulders with bustling life. Upon arrival, meet up with the friendly local guide who will assist the group through the passport and immigration process. Then, transfer to the hotel, settle in, and meet the Egyptologist tour guide who will guide the group throughout the stay. Learn more about the upcoming days' experiences during a tour briefing. Get ready for a day filled with ancient wonders! Following a delicious breakfast, join your expert guide to explore the Giza pyramid complex and encounter some of Egypt's most iconic sights. Stand in awe before the Great Pyramids of Giza, the sole survivor of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and marvel at the sacred Sphinx. Next, journey to Sakkara where the legendary Step Pyramid of Zoser (also known as Djoser) awaits. This structure is believed to be the first of its kind in Egypt and was built in the 27th century BC. Prepare to be mesmerised by the riches unearthed from King Tutankhamun's tomb, a testament to the pharaoh's opulent reign. Enjoy a free day exploring the vibrant capital of Egypt and all its iconic landmarks and hidden gems at your own pace today! Alternatively, join the optional day trip to Alexandria, a historic jewel on the Mediterranean Coast. Founded by Alexander the Great himself, Alexandria boasts a rich legacy waiting to be discovered! This seaside city is best known for once being home to the lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Upon arrival, meet the local representative who will transfer the group to the hotel, where an overview of the upcoming itinerary will be given. The evening is yours to explore Jordan's modern capital city as you wish or unwind and settle into the hotel for a restful night.
Day 12: Amman - Jerash - Petra

After breakfast, set off on a city tour of Amman and visit the city’s top sights, such as the Roman Theatre, Amman Citadel, and the Amman Panorama Art Gallery in Downtown Amman. Next, discover the Roman city of Jerash. Known for its ruins of the walled Greco-Roman settlement of Gerasa, one of the largest and best-preserved Roman sites outside of Italy, Jerash is filled with a rich history just waiting to be explored! Afterwards, the tour makes its way to Petra to settle into the hotel for the evening.

Day 13: Petra - Wadi Rum

Take in the views before heading for lunch in Wadi Rum. Madaba boasts a rich culture as is best known for its 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land in the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George. The Madaba Archaeological Park is also a highlight as it houses artefacts from the Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, and Islamic eras. Then, travel to Mount Nebo, an elevated ridge of the Abarim in Jordan. This is the place mentioned in the Hebrew Bible where Moses was said to have been granted a view of the Promised Land. After exploring this iconic destination, travel to yet another must-see sight, the Dead Sea, for lunch, a swim, or to float. Do you operate a “single share” option and how does it work?
If you are travelling alone there is no compulsory charge - you will share a twin room with another passenger of the same gender. There is an optional single supplement/private room upgrade available for single travellers who wish to have a private room. This can be added at the time of booking or by contacting our team.

Children on tour?
Our tours are not suitable for young children which is why we have a minimum age limit of 10 years old. However, at the discretion of Expat Explore we may consider younger children on certain tours if they meet certain criteria and a request is received in writing via email. Minors (between 10 and 18 years of age) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who accepts full responsibility for them. Unaccompanied minors will not be accepted on tour. Expat Explore reserves the right to decline any booking at our discretion. Any minor (between 10 and 18 years of age) is priced the same as an adult.
