Itinerary
Day 1 : Rome - Assisi - Siena – Florence (D)
Location: Rome
Benvenuto in Italia! We leave Rome at 07:15AM and go to the historic walled town of Assisi. If you choose, you may visit the magnificent Basilica of St Francis on your own. Then we travel to Siena, a UNESCO World Heritage Site noted for its exceedingly small alleyways, ancient brick structures, and fan-shaped main plaza, Piazza del Campo. After a brief stop, we return to our hotel in Florence, where supper is provided.
Please keep in mind: The tour begins from the Hotel St Martin in Rome at 07:15 on Day 1. Please arrive in Rome the day before your tour to avoid missing the coach.
Day 2 : Florence (B-L)
Location: Firenze
After breakfast, you will spend the day seeing lovely Florence, the "Cradle of Renaissance," where Italian art achieved its pinnacle with the aid of Michelangelo. Based on Etruscan-Roman beginnings, the city prospered as an autonomous "Comune" in the Middle Ages and was further re-fined during the Renaissance. The numerous monuments, cathedrals, and structures such as Santa Maria del Fiore, often known as the Duomo, will captivate you.
During your tour, you will be astounded by its beautiful dome, which was created by Filippo Brunelleschi. Cross a small square to see the "Campanile" tower (partly created by Giotto) and the Baptistery, with its bronze doors inspired by Michelangelo's "Gates of Paradise."
" The Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo della Signoria (also known as Palazzo Vecchio), and the Basilica of Santa Croce are located in the heart of the city." Lunch at Piazza Santa Croce at a typical Tuscan restaurant. Spend the day exploring Florence's cobblestone alleyways on your own, or take a short drive to Pisa (optional tour), one of Italy's four important medieval Marine Republics. You will visit the Piazza dei Miracoli, which includes the Duomo, Pisa's icon "the Leaning Tower," and the Baptistery. Dinner at leisure, followed by an overnight stay in Florence.
Day 3 : Florence · Bologna · Padua · Venice (B-D)
Location: Venice
Breakfast and departure for Bologna. There, you will find the magnificent city center with its "porticos," retail lanes, and other attractions. From Piazza Malpighi, stroll to Piazza del Nettuno and Piazza Maggiore (the city's main squares), then to King Renzo's Palace, Palazzo Podestà, and the church of San Petronio, one of the largest in the world. Bologna is a gourmet paradise...Don't pass up a nice dinner at your leisure! Continue toward Padova in the afternoon, stopping at Sant'Antonio Basilica, one of the most visited churches by Catholic pilgrims worldwide. Arrival at Venice (Mestre) later in the day. Arrive at your hotel for supper and an overnight stay.
Day 4 : Venice (B)
Location: Venice
After breakfast, We will transfer you to Piazza San Marco and see the most famous sights of the "Floating City," including the Palazzo dei Dogi, a reminder of Venice's magnificent history, and the renowned "Bridge of Sighs." Let us give you a spritz or a prosecco after this walking tour to round off your visit to Venice attractions in the company of your tour leader.
Spend the day exploring Venice's canals at your leisure before returning to the hotel for the night.
Day 5 : Venice – Tuscany – Rome
Location: Metropolitan City of Rome Capital
After breakfast, we are leaving from Piazzale Roma for Tuscany, renowned for its scenery, churches and castles, and delectable wines. You will continue to Val di Chiana, stopping in Montepulciano, a medieval town rich in history and art. Montepulciano, known for its "Nobile" wine, which can be purchased at local wine shops, also organizes an annual Jazz and Wine Festival in July. Lunch is included in a authentic local restaurant!!! After lunch, a short free time will be given. You will arrive in Rome in the evening, where the tour will conclude.
