Day 1 : Arrive In Muscat

Location: Muscat

Upon arrival at the Muscat International Airport, you will be met by English speaking guide. You will depart from the hotel to the Muscat city tour. The first stop on your tour to discover the capital will be the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, one of the most impressive architectural gems in the Middle East that stands out for its magnificent decorations and lush gardens. Leaving this enchanting place of worship, you will continue towards Muttrah and visit the typical fish market and follow the Bait Al Zubair Museum (Fridays Al Zubair Museum is closed so we will use either Muttrah Fort or National museum instead ). Enriched with new notions about Oman, you will resume your journey and after a brief photo stop at the Royal Al Alam Palace, flanked by the 16th century Portuguese forts Jalali and Mirani, you will reach the splendid Corniche. Here you can take a break on the waterfront overlooking the Mina Al Sultan Qaboos Port and test your negotiating skills in the labyrinthine Souq, one of the most fascinating in the Gulf thanks to its characteristic wooden roofs. You will have time to negotiate the price of incense nuggets, traditional daggers (khanjar) and local goldsmith products. From the souq you will be driven back to the hotel.

Overnight: Muscat Meals: Dinner

Day 2 : Muscat - Misfah - Al Hamra - Nizwa

Location: Nizwa

Departure at 8.30 am at a time of Nizwa, an ancient Omani settlement. The next stop will be Misfat Al Abriyeen, a small ruined settlement famous for its terraced conformation within which, despite the inhospitable habitat, date palms have flourished. Proceeding with your journey you will arrive at Al Hamra, the oldest village in Oman, which boasts some houses dating back 400 years and numerous testimonies of traditional construction techniques with mud bricks dried in the sun. Then you will resume your journey towards Jebel Shams, "the Mountain of the Sun", whose summit reaches 3009 m above sea level. The crisp air and the incredible view of the Grand Canyon will surprise you and stay cool at night at these altitudes, near the stars, it will invigorate you. Drive to Nizwa and drop of to hotel.

Overnight: Nizwa Meals: Breakfast - Lunch

Day 3 : Nizwa - Wahiba Desert

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and visit the traditional Nizwa Souq. The next stop will be in Nizwa, once the capital of the Sultanate. Entrance to the spectacular Fort with the massive circular tower dotted with cannons, a unicum in all the fortified structures of the country. Lively and lively place with souvenir sellers, fruit, meat and vegetables, typical objects, terracotta dishes and various furnishings: the ideal destination for shopping !! On Friday mornings you can also see the sale and auction of live animals, such as cows, camels, goats and donkeys, brought for the occasion aboard pickup trucks and improvised cars to transport animals. You will continue your journey towards Ibra, dotted with watch towers and finally reach the Wahiba Sands desert. The off-road vehicles will go off-road among the wind-blown red dunes and lead you to the Bedouin-style tented camp, with air conditioning and toilets. In the heart of the desert, dominated by the majestic sand dunes, you will be greeted affably according to the famous Omani hospitality. To make the excursion unforgettable, a breathtaking safari on the crests of the highest dunes, with climbs of over 150 m in altitude and stop at the highest point to see the sunset. Delicious Arabic dishes and entertainment around the bonfire under the stars will conclude the evening

Overnight: Wahiba Desert Camp Meals: Breakfast - Dinner

Day 4 : Wahiba Desert - Wadi Nani Khalid - Muscat

Location: Muscat

After breakfast, you will board an 4x4 off-road vehicle for an exciting excursion in the desert and visit the House of a Bedouin family, where you can enjoy excellent coffee flavored with cardamom and local dates, as usual in Oman. From the boundless vastness of the desert slopes you will reach Wadi Bani Khalid, one of the most stunning of Oman. Despite the easy access, the wadi preserves the magical character of the oasis and still constitutes a precious source of irrigation for the typical date palm groves. Then you will be driven straight to the Muscat where you will be dropped of to watch the sunset from Dhow cruise, Enjoy the scenic beauty of Oman coastline over the pristine waters of Oman capital area breathtaking views of its landmarks.The duration of this experience will be 2 hrs .

Day 5 : Muscat Departure

The Eskapas 10 day Anatolian tour of Turkey was by far the best experience for my month stay in Turkey. Most of my trips in the past to countries include too many stories about how things went wrong when traveling and planning trips myself. The Eskapas tour started off great with me being picked up by Eskapas at the Turkey airport exit and ending well with a driver picking me up at the scheduled 2am time to get me back to the airport after the tour. I give Ismail the credit for arranging the airport transfers which took the pressure off me. Reading other Eskapas positive reviews mentioning Ismail’s name and her tour arrangement success was one of the deciding factors for me using Eskapas. Now for the tour, I was not doing too well after drinking Istanbul tap water before starting the tour. Nader, the tour guide found me an open pharmacy on a Turkish national holiday when most pharmacies were closed. I and the tour group appreciate him finding that pharmacy. Nader has been leading tours for over 30 years In Turkey and had informative responses to any and all questions. I learned a lot about the Turkey culture from him that I would have missed had I planned this tour on my own. The quality of hotels we stayed at far exceeded my expectations. It was pleasant to have a conversation with others on the tour discussing if a hotel was a 4 or 5 star. I expect to book a tour next year to Egypt using Eskapas. Lessons learned, don’t drink the public water in Turkey and take an Eskapas tour.

The big question: Is it safe to travel to Egypt now? Our answer is YES! There is a significant police presence in downtown Cairo, which the locals say is normal. It is reassuring, because they look like they are ready for anything. We felt very safe even walking around the hotel at night. We booked a 12 day group tour of Egypt with Eskapas. It was fantastic! It turned out we were the only members of the group (my husband and I). The accommodations were excellent (5*), the transportation, drivers and guides were exemplary. From the time we arrived at the Cairo airport until we left Egypt, we didn't have to worry about anything, all arrangements were taken care of. There was someone to take us to our hotel, Steigenberger Tahrir Square, a beautiful hotel in a great location. The staff at this hotel responded quickly and efficiently to all our requests and they could not have been more helpful or pleasant. The included breakfast at this hotel is over the top! We toured all the top sights with amazing guides. Marwa in Cairo was incredibly knowledgeable, personable and always concerned for our comfort and welfare. We had many fascinating conversations about the sights and Egypt in general. Abdelrhman was a delight and managed our transportation and helped us navigate Cairo restaurants and the bazaar. Emad stayed with us for the southern half of our tour and the 5 day Nile cruise. He took care of us completely with all the transportation and tickets for all the sights. He is a wonderful and brilliant man. He went beyond our expectations to help us in many ways. We enjoyed his company immensely. Ismail with Eskapas was very efficient and always responded quickly regarding booking, billing, additional nights and general questions. We took a tour with Eskapas in Turkey in 2021 and it was amazing. I highly recommend this company if you are looking for high quality, worry free travel at a reasonable price.
