Discover sites of biblical and historical importance on our Heritage tour - a 7 night guided tour of the Holy Land with a focus on Christianity. Visit sites that played an important role in Jesus’ life – Bethlehem; Tiberias and the shores of the Sea of Galilee; Nazareth and Cana, where he performed his first miracle; Jerusalem, where he was betrayed, crucified and resurrected, including the Mount of Olives, the Garden of Gethsemane, the Via Dolorosa, Calvary and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Other key sites visited on the tour include Caesarea, Megiddo (Armageddon), Qumran, Masada and the Dead Sea, Ein Karem. At the end of the touring in Israel, fly to Eilat and enjoy a day tour to Petra in Jordan.

Day 1 : Arrival
Location: Tel Aviv-Yafo

• Upon arrival to Tel Aviv Airport you will be met by our representative who will be holding a sign with your name on, immediately after passport control. Our representative will guide you to pick up your luggage, after which you will be escorted via Customs to meet your driver who will transfer you to your hotel.
• Evening at leisure in Tel Aviv.
• Overnight in Tel Aviv.
Day 2 : Tel Aviv / Sea Of Galilee / Tiberias
Location: Kafr Kanna, Tiberias, Megiddo, Jaffa, Caesarea

• CTO's tour guide will pick you up from your hotel.
• Drive for a visit of the port city of Jaffa (Joppa) where we will take a short walking tour in picturesque alleys of the old, fortified town. We will pass by the house of Simon the Tanner and marvel at the views from the hill top.
• We drive north along the coastal road - Via Maris, to the archaeological ruins of Caesarea, built by Herod the Great in honor of Augustus Caesar.
• From here we go on to visit Megiddo where the book of Revelations mentions a great battle at the place called "Armageddon", an ancient city inhabited continuously for more than five millennia (6000-500 B.C.).
• After exploring the ancient ruins we drive toward the Sea of Galilee, stopping at Cana to visit the Wedding Church where Jesus performed his first miracle, turning water into wine.
• Arrive at Tiberias and check-in to your hotel.
Day 3 : Sea Of Galilee & Golan Heights
Location: Sea of Galilee, Golan Heights, Tiberias

• Visit the sites on the north shore of the Sea of Galilee, the stage for many of the events in Jesus' life.
• Drive along the shore of the sea to Capernaum – known as “His Town”, the center of Jesus ministry where he spent much time healing the sick and performing miracles
• On to Tabgha, the site of Christ’s miracle of feeding the 5,000, visiting the Church of Multiplication, where the mosaic floor depicts a basket with loaves and two fishes, and the Church of the Primacy of St Peter, commemorating Jesus' reinstatement of Peter as chief among the Apostles.
• Continue to the Mount of Beatitudes overlooking the sea, where Jesus preached the “Sermon on the Mount” and it is believed that he picked his 12 apostles.
• Ascend to the Golan Heights to view the panoramic view of the peaks of Mt. Hermon and the rugged Golan plateau.
• Visit Banias (Caesarea Philippi), one of the sources of the River Jordan, where Jesus took his disciples, revealing his purpose and His Church before his last trip to Jerusalem and where Simon identified Jesus as the messiah.
• Drive to the southern part of the Sea of Galilee to visit the Yardenit Baptismal Site.
• Return to Tiberias for another night in town.
Day 4 : Nazareth / Jordan Valley / Beit Alpha / Jerusalem
Location: Nazareth, Jerusalem

• Sail on a boat on the Sea of Galilee to experience the tranquility and scenery little changed during the past 2000 years (subject to conditions and fee).
• Travel through the Galilee to Nazareth, where Jesus spent his childhood, and the Church of Annunciation, built on the site where archaeologists believe the Archangel Gabriel appeared to the Virgin Mary. You will also see Mary’s Well and Joseph’s Church.
• Visit the ancient synagogue at Beit Alpha, located at the foot of the northern slopes of the Gilboa Mountains which has one of most preserved and beautiful mosaics in Israel.
• Drive through the Jordan Valley, passing by Jericho, before ascending through the Judean Mountains to Jerusalem.
• Overnight at your Jerusalem hotel.
Day 5 : Masada & Dead Sea
Location: Jerusalem, Masada, Dead Sea

• Through remarkable scenery of the Dead Sea we travel to Masada which is situated on an isolated cliff in the Judean Desert. The site was declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001.
• Ascend by cable car to the fortress, which was the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots in their war against the Romans. Visit the excavations, King Herod’s palace, the synagogue, bathhouse and much more. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the Roman camps and the Dead Sea below.
• Visit the site of the Qumran Caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered.
• Nearly 1,300 feet below sea level, the Dead Sea is the lowest point on the earth’s surface. Bring your swimsuit as if weather permits it’s possible to “float” on the salty, mineral rich, water.
• Return to Jerusalem for an overnight.
Day 6 : Jerusalem
Location: Bethlehem, Ein Karem, Jerusalem

• Start the day at the Israel Museum’s Shrine of the Book with the famous Dead Sea scrolls, then a visit to the beautifully renovated model of the Herodian city of Jerusalem, dating back to the time of the Second Temple.
• Enjoy Ein Karem; a picturesque village in the south western outskirts of Jerusalem. This small village has great significance in Christian traditions, since this is where according to tradition John the Baptist was born.
• Visit Yad Vashem the official memorial to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust, established in 1953, located at the foot of Mt. Hertzl.
• Visit Bethlehem - the birthplace of Jesus at the Church of the Nativity and Manger Square.
• Return to your Jerusalem hotel.
Day 7 : Jerusalem / Eilat
Location: Eilat

• Enter the Old City of Jerusalem where you will see the Western Wall and the actual site of the Second Temple, the Temple Mount.
• Walk the Way of the Cross, the Via Dolorosa, to Calvary and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, housing both the traditional site of Crucifixion and the Tomb of the Resurrection.
• To the southwest, just outside the Old City, is Mount Zion, with the traditional tomb of King David and the Room of the Last Supper.
• Transfer to Ben Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv for short flight to Ramon Airport, Eilat and onward transfer to your Eilat hotel.
• Overnight in Eilat.
Day 8 : Petra / Tel Aviv
Location: Wadi Musa, Petra, Tel Aviv-Yafo
Accommodation: Hotel

• Leave Eilat, Israel and cross into Jordan at the Arava border.
• Drive to Petra through the scenic Jordanian desert, passing by the Wadi Rum area.
• Enter the Rose City of Petra through the Siq, a narrow passage through the mountains that has inspired people for centuries.
• Up to the Treasury which suddenly appears at the end of the gorge, leaving visitors breath taken by its' size, color and beauty.
• Continue into the heart of this ancient city carved into the mountains, passing hundreds of tombs and monuments and a spectacular Amphitheatre, which once held 3,000 spectators.
• Exit the city and stop for a sit-down lunch in Wadi Musa - the new town of Petra, followed by a visit to Moses Spring before leaving.
• Drive to Aqaba for a short city tour, before returning to the Arava border and back to Ramon Airport, Eilat for return flight to Ben Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv.
• Transfer from Tel Aviv airport to Tel Aviv hotel for overnight.
Day 9 : Departure

In Israel, Israeli Shekels are the local currency. Exchange bureaus are located at the airport on arrival. In Jordan, Jordanian Dinars are the local currency. Exchange bureaus are available at the border for visiting Jordan. However, nearly all outlets will also accept US Dollars.

We are able to help you with any pre or post tour accommodation and are able to guarantee that you will stay in the same hotel that the tour will start or finish if required, so that you will not have to move hotels.

Are all entrance fees included in the price?
Entrance fees to all of the sites visited on the itinerary are included in the price. The only exception is the boat ride on the Sea of Galilee which is operated according to weather conditions and paid for at the time of sailing as long as it goes ahead. (Approx. US$10).

Are the local guides on the tour English speaking?
The local guide is an English speaking, professional, licensed tour guide.

Is there a limit to luggage that can be brought on the tour?
There is no limit to luggage, however we would appreciate if you advise us should you have more than 2 suitcases per person for storage in the bus during travelling between accommodations.

Are children permitted to take part in the tour?
Children above the age of 5 years old are permitted to join the tour.

Are vaccinations required for this tour?
There are no specific vaccinations required to enter Israel.

Do you require a visa for this holiday?
While most nationalities receive tourist visas on arrival, certain nationalities require visas arranged in advance to enter Israel or Jordan. As long as you are not holding a restricted nationality passport for Jordan, we arrange your visa for your tour to Petra.

Will we be met on arrival?
On arrival at Ben Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv, you will be met immediately after passport control by our representative, who will direct you to receive your luggage and then escort you to the driver who will be waiting to take you to your hotel. For departure, your driver will wait for you at the hotel to take you to the airport.

Is there a supplement for solo travellers?
There is a supplement for solo travellers. Our tours provide private rooms for solo travellers. We do not provide the option to join the room of other travellers on our tours.

Will I know the names and details of all the accommodation before I depart?
Yes. As soon as your reservation has been processed, we will contact you with all of the necessary information regarding accommodation and airport procedures.

What happens if a group doesn’t make its minimum required number of passengers?
We GUARANTEE that every tour will operate as long as there is a minimum of 2 travellers.

Do I need a visa for Jordan?
Certain nationalities are considered restricted to enter Israel and/or Jordan and/or Egypt, and therefore must arrange a visa in advance. If you are unsure, please check with the relevant consulates/embassies, or ask us to give you the information. As long as you are not holding a restricted nationality passport for Jordan: On our 3 or 4 day tours (either stand-alone or extension after touring in Israel), we arrange a free visa-waiver for your touring in Jordan. On our tours which have 1 day Petra (either stand-alone or extension after touring in Israel), your visa is issued on arrival at the border crossing (subject to fee). If you are holding a restricted nationality passport for entering Jordan: On our 3 or 4 day tours (either stand-alone or extension after touring in Israel), we can request a visa (free of charge) in advance for you – the process takes approx. 1 month, therefore we must receive your passport details in order to make the request at least 1 month prior to arrival. On our tours which have 1 day Petra (either stand-alone or extension after touring in Israel), we can request a visa (subject to fee) in advance for you – the process takes approx. 1 month, therefore we must receive your passport details in order to make the request at least 1 month prior to arrival.
