Buenos Aires

The capital and largest city in Argentina has been an autonomous district since 1880. Buenos Aires is a top tourist destination, known for its European-style architecture and rich cultural life. The city currently has the highest concentration of theaters in the world. Buenos Aires is a cosmopolitan center of the nation and offers a large cultural diversity due to the waves of immigration during the years. It is known as the land of the portenos (people of the port) — which is what the people from Buenos Aires are referred to as — and traditions, but the land is also large in industrial and commercial activities. Although Buenos Aires is a large cosmopolitan area, it also offers a very historical background, reflected in the French and Italian architecture, and numerous museums and cultural centers.

The name of this dance comes from the Latin word for touch (tangere) and it originated along the banks of the Rio Plata in the region of Buenos Aires. The tango was included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Lists in 2009. It has European influences like Flamenco and Polka and also South American (Habanero) and African (Milonga). It became a separate dance form in the mid 19th century.

Ainsworth Forest

This option is mostly flat and done at a relaxed pace. You will be transported to the activity via Zodiac.



Ainsworth Moraine

Activity Level: 4

This option may require you to use ropes and navigate over rocks in order to reach the summit. It is more of a demanding hike and not possible for those with mobility issues. You will be transported to the activity via Zodiac.

Behold the breathtakingly big Pia Glacier. Nestled between mountains and sea, it is located in an isolated corner of the Chilean Fjords. Hear it creak and crack as the ice moves, and perhaps see a large chunk calve from the frozen wall.

Visit the huge glacier that lies in a fjord along the Chilean Patagonia coast. The best part is that you decide where you want to hike because it’s your choice! Traverse the Pia Boulders on a medium level hike for panoramic views of the glacier. Keep in mind that this terrain is more challenging than your average day hike -OR- travel on a different trail and venture on an easier hike towards the Pia Lookout where panoramic views of the glacier will greet you.

This option is an easy walk but depending on weather spots could be slippery. You will be transported to the activity via Zodiac.



Pia Lookout

Medium level hike with uphill elements. You will be transported to the activity via Zodiac.

The southernmost headland of Tierra del Fuego, Cape Horn marks where the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans meet. The waters there are particularly violent and many sailors prefer to use the Strait of Magellan instead of the extremely challenging nautical route around notorious Cape Horn.

Enter this beautiful bay and see the historical site where the famous naturalist Charles Darwin ventured in 1833. The island, once traveled to only by Yamana people on canoes, is home to the southernmost aboriginal people in the history of the world.

Head towards the peak on the most difficult hike for a scenic lookout -OR- embark on a slower paced hike with a medium difficulty towards the Forest Lookout -OR- take a peaceful nature walk along the beach for a chance to witness even more wildlife.



Wulaia Bay Peak

Difficult uphill hike. Not suitable for those with mobility issues. You will be transported to the activity via Zodiac.

Wulaia Bay Beach

This option is an easy, flat walk on the beach. You will be transported to the activity via Zodiac.

Located at the tip of Argentina and in the area of Patagonia is Ushuaia. This "Bay overlooking the West" is regarded as the southernmost city in the world and is part of the the Tierra del Fuego region. Bordered by sweeping mountains and the Beagle Channel, this former prison colony is a popular destination for people traveling to Antarctica and provides insight to the different people that settled here including the Yamana Indians and British missionaries.
