Day 3: Lake Titicaca, Peru - La Paz, Bolivia
Location: Lake Titicaca, Pariti Island, Kalauta, Pata Patani, La Paz
Accommodation Name: Catamaran Cruise Ship
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch
Lake Titicaca and visit to local communities (B/L) After breakfast on board, continue navigation enjoying the overwhelming panorama of Lake Titicaca towards the Andean communities of Pariti, Kalauta and Patapatani located on the shores of the smaller portion of the Lake known as “Wiñay Marca”. First in Pariti Island, we will board a small boat to access this island where we will visit a typical local house that will allow appreciating the real livelihood of aymara people in the highlands. In this same island, local people started finding various ceramic pieces during their daily activities (digging for constructions, plowing to cultivate their products, etc.). This awoke curiosity among the villagers and archaeologists as well, so archaeological diggings started, and numerous pieces of fine ceramics dated to Tiwanaku culture were found. The ones that stand out are figures of wildlife such as tigers, monkeys, etc. which leads to think that Pariti was a ceremonial site visited by peoples from beyond the Andes. All these objects are currently on display at the Pariti Museum, which is part of the itinerary. Continue towards Kalauta navigating in typical fishing barges that will allow a unique experience where rowing among the totorales (reed plants) gives a special sense of peace and mysticism that only this pristine portion of the lake has. There, you can appreciate a great deal of funeral towers. Kalauta was once an ancient stone town and the largest prehispanic necropolis. Then, we will return in the same boats to board the Catamaran to enjoy a snack. After this, the navigation continues towards Pata Patani, we will reach the community in small boats where the community welcomes tourists at the port handing them garlands made of flowers by themselves and makes them actively participate in their dances to the sound of typical instruments. This community is very rooted to ancient traditions and still makes a livelihood of fishing. A visit to the Pata Patani Museum is also in the itinerary; this museum shelters the oldest best-preserved Andean mummy called Tani. Afterwards, return to the catamaran to enjoy buffet lunch on board while sailing in the Titicaca Lake continues. End with a land transfer to La Paz.

The Bamba Team really made my journey one of the most memorable experiences of my life! Still so nice and supportive! They handled everything and responded to each question within a few minutes. I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone. Especially if you want to do a lot of activities and travel to a lot of different places without feeling rushed. They've also helped me with specific issues that weren't covered by the tour, as well as answering general questions. Thank you so much for making my journey so enjoyable!

I only have good words about our trip to Kenya. The entire experience was totally magical and I struggle to say how fantastic it was. We were fortunate enough to have a brilliant vehicle for ourselves, but we had great luck with David for our guide too. He was very knowledgeable, courteous and nice. Thank you for helping to create this fantastic safari experience. I Highly recommend this company.

We organized a trip through Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia on the hop-on, hop-off bus. It made the trip so much simpler for us as first-time travelers because we just had to send an email to arrange the bus, which avoided the hassle of looking for the best price and so on! We also had a number of tours included, they were all amazing and saved us the trouble of trying to find the best offers on our own; it also meant we got to see a lot of stuff we wouldn't have seen otherwise.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience that I will strongly suggest and use again!

Jun 25 2019
I had booked our Uyuni Salt Flats & Desert Adventure 3D/2N (Uyuni to Atacama) tour via an Australian travel agency, but they had made an error and refused to assist us or take responsibility. This was very difficult for us because we wanted to have a stress-free honeymoon. I contacted Bamba and I asked if we could talk on the phone so they made the improvements to our tour reservation that our travel agent declined to make. The quality of service was exceptional and they generously offered to us a complimentary gift because it was our honeymoon. I can't say enough good things about Bamba.
