Mined only in Tanzania, the beautiful blue December birthstone, known as tanzanite, is a unique souvenir of your East African adventure and a must-have in any jewellery lover’s collection. The Tanzanite Experience is a 1 to 2-hour tour that introduces the history of this magnificent mineral, including how it was discovered and first mined. You will enjoy the opportunity to see for yourself how each precious gem is graded and cut. Savour the opportunity to ogle tanzanite up close and handle rough and polished stones. Once you have a true appreciation of this gem, you can spoil yourself by purchasing a genuine, well cut and certified tanzanite piece at a charming boutique store. The Tanzanite Experience boutiques are brimming with beautiful displays dedicated to the fascinating blue violet gemstone. It is said that tanzanite is “1,000 times rarer than diamonds” and, found at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, is incredibly exclusive to Tanzania. Exhibiting magnificent blue and violet hues, tanzanite was first discovered in 1967. World famous New York jewellers “Tiffany & Co”, declared it “the most beautiful blue stone to be discovered in 2,000 years”, and named it Tanzanite. Serengeti Balloon Safari
Departing at sunrise, a hot air balloon provides a superb view of the plains. Flying low over big herds make this one of the best ways to witness the Great Migration. Despite the early wake-up call and freezing temperatures, remaining unnoticed by the Big Five makes the experience completely worth it.
Arusha City Tour
Arusha – the ‘safari capital’ of East Africa- is perched at 1400 meters above sea level, keeping the temperatures and humidity relatively low. All around this important city are some of Tanzania’s greatest delights. Mount Meru towers above Arusha, while even distant Kilimanjaro can be seen on a clear day. Arusha provides the ideal starting-point for safari-lovers, within reach of Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.
The city even has its own natural attraction, Arusha National Park, close by. Named after the Wa-Arusha residents of the town, this busy agricultural, administrative and tourist center is the perfect place to relax after a long journey… and before you set off on safari, the holiday of a lifetime. ...more ...less

Outstanding Experience
12-Sep-2020
My husband and I went on a 7-day honeymoon trip to Tanzania in September 2020. Our honeymoon was organized with Abel, he was so helpful, treated us with so much kindness, and patience. Every request we made was met. We were quite nervous about booking a trip during COVID-19 and had a lot of questions about Tanzania’s protocols and Abel response time was really quick and he informed us of everything we should expect. Alaitol Safaris took a lot of precautions to make sure we were safe. Abel also created the best itinerary for us! The amount of effort to make us feel good about our choice was the sweetest guesture and it left us speechless. Our trip was so organized and so well thought out. Once we arrived in Tanzania our guide Fred worked very hard to make sure we saw all of nature and the beauty Tanzania has to offer. He was so amazing, we are very grateful towards him. Fred was very educated and taught us a lot about nature and we had the best experience with him. We became a family and it was the biggest take away for me. We would start our adventures at 8 am everyday. Fred though would be up 2 hours before to make sure the cruiser was in tip top shape and properly sanitized so our day would go very smoothly. Every hotel we stayed at was impeccable. We were treated with so much kindness and care. We truly believe we could never experience something like this in any other country with any other tour. On the safari it was very clear the difference in the way Alaitol Safaris treated clients than other companies did. Every day we received the best hot lunches and Fred took us to the best places first. We were always first on the scene and saw the best show! We saw the big 5 animals, we saw the great migration of 2 million wildebeest crossing the Mara river, We saw the most intense hunts just a few meters from our vehicle. It was the most surreal experience watching live what we would see on National Geographic. The most surprising thing for me was how breathtaking the landscape was. Every morning we would see the most glorious sunrises and every night we would be humbled with the most beautiful sunsets. The noise you hear when it is completely silent in the wilderness is a phenomenon I cannot explain. We heard the thunder of the wildebeest footsteps, we heard the Erie laughing of hyenas near our camp at night, we heard the magnificent roaring of Lions and the trumpeting of Elephants always left us speechless and in awe. We live in Canada and it is currently the dead of winter, we reminisce about our trip constantly and the beautiful weather in Tanzania everyday. Our videos and stories has made all of our friends and family praying to go to Tanzania and get the chance we got. We will always recommend Alaitol Safaris to everyone we know. Thank you very much Alaitol Safaris and if we could come back we definitely will come back to Tanzania in a heart beat. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to have the best honeymoon any couple could possibly have. If you are thinking about booking a trip to Tanzania, you will not regret it! Book with Alaitol Safaris to get the best experience of your life!

An Amazing Safari Adventure!
03-Mar-2021
Our tour was amazing! Our driver/guide was on time, very kind, knowledgeable and took us to see most of the wildlife that we wanted to see with the exception of hippos. I believe they were hiding from us on that day. LOL. Visiting Africa was a dream come true for me at the tender age of 51 and my daughter enjoyed it as well.

A Safari Dream Come True! Incredible Service!
29-Jan-2021
We booked a private 7-day safari in Tanzania in Jan/Feb 2021 and were extremely impressed by Alaitol Safaris.
First, during the trip Onesmo “One”, our safari guide, did a truly incredible job taking time to understand our needs and tailoring the game drives and conversations to exceed our expectations. He was tremendously thoughtful each day and evening with briefings so that we knew what to expect for the day and provided options for how to maximize our time doing things that we loved the most. He was proactive in helping us search for and see so many wild animals and had the knowledge throughout the game drives to answer our questions about each animal we encountered - including dozens and dozens of birds! The guides that care for you during the safari definitely make or break the experience, and we are lucky that Soul of Tanzania employed One to care for us.
Second, prior to the trip Abel, our Alaitol Safaris journey designer, was extremely responsive and helpful in arranging our itinerary. Even a week or so prior to our trip we had to reroute nearly all of our itinerary to add in a COVID test per our government requirements and Abel did so within a day. Truly fantastic service! During the planning process, each individual is given such great care and attention. We exchanged probably hundreds of emails during planning and every time the response was not only very fast but also extremely helpful.
In summary - we would absolutely recommend Alaitol Safaris to our friends and family. We hope they assign you One to guide you! Thank you for an incredible safari!
