Our Powder Fix package is the ultimate short break option for powder loving skiers and snowboarders who want to avoid the chairlifts, and enjoy access to untracked backcountry terrain in the majestic Southern Alps.This package includes two days of incredible Private Charter heli-skiing allowing complete freedom in the mountains in the safe hands of dedicated, experienced heli-ski guides and pilots. Private Charter heli-ski days enable access to numerous mountain ranges within the Southern Lakes around Queenstown, Wanaka and Glenorchy so that you can ski and ride the very best snow on any given day, and enjoy huge vertical runs.Also included are 2 nights in a centrally located luxury boutique Queenstown hotel, all airport and heli-pad transfers, Queenstown hosting plus breakfast and an amazing gourmet lunch in the mountains daily.Our friendly staff will meet and greet you in Queenstown, assist with your accommodation check-in and fitting and collection of your powder ski and powder board rentals. Day 1

Location: Minaret Bay

After breakfast you will be transferred to the heli-pad and waiting helicopter to meet your guide and undergo some important pre-flight briefings to keep your day in the back country safe and enjoyable. Here you will be involved in a practical demonstration on the fitting and use of transceivers and other back country equipment plus given a helicopter awareness and safety briefing.

At this time your guide will re-cap the running order and timings for the day and provide an update on snow conditions before you board the helicopter and fly off for a unique and incredible day of guided heli-skiing.

Your Private Charter includes 1.5 hours of heli-time which allows for keen skiers and snowboarders to usually achieve 8-10 back country heli-ski runs in a day, typically over 5 hours which includes a fantastic and memorable gourmet picnic lunch in the mountains.

Additional heli-time is always available for those wanting to spend more time in the mountains and can be arranged through your guide on the day.

Day 2

Following another delicious breakfast you will be transferred back to the heli-pad to meet your guide, re-cap all of the important safety aspects for the day and get an update on the latest snow conditions.

Your second heli-ski day will see you visit different mountain ranges and terrain area for more great virgin snow skiing and snowboarding in the magnificent Southern Lakes back country. Once again you have 1.5 hours of heli-time available for you to ski and ride endless untracked powder and to enjoy another incredible big mountain day including a fantastic and memorable gourmet picnic lunch in the mountains.

Additional heli-time is once again available for those wanting to spend more time in the mountains and can be arranged through your guide on the day.

Do you operate a “single share” option and how does it work?

Yes. We do not have a Single surcharge as we have many solo travellers joining our extended South Island tours. Tour prices are however based on Twin/Dbl ensuite accommodation which see's same gender solo travellers twinned throughout the tour. where available. If you would like to guarantee your own private ensuite accommodation throughout the tour you can request an upgrade. ...more ...less
What visas or passports do I need to travel to NZ?

All visitors to NZ must carry a passport that is valid for at least three months beyond the date you intend to leave NZ. Visitors from most of the world incl Europe and the USA who intend to stay for less than three months do not require a visa. If you want to stay longer than 3 months, or your country of origin does not have a visa waiver agreement with NZ, you need to apply for a visitor's visa. ...more ...less

Travel insurance is essential for all Adventure Junkies trips. Insurance must indicate that you have cover for at least medical expenses and emergency repatriation. Please ensure that your insurance covers you for all activities included on your trip.

Awesome adventure!

Awesome Adventure! Russ took us on an action filled, 10 day adventure on the south island. We were comfortably driven all over the country. Due to his thorough planning of of this package, every aspect of the trip including the best activities, food and lodging were lined up and the trip went flawlessly. Off road biking, hiking, white water rafting, jet boating, zip lining were just a few of the days adventures. He told us about the country and took us places that only the locals would know. Russ bent over backwards to accommodate everyone and make this the trip of a lifetime. I would not hesitate of recommend Adventure Junkies to all my friends. ...more ...less

Incredible experience

My husband and I went to Queenstown, we have been several times before, but this time was an incredible experience, adventure junkies made our trip so easy, and much more fun as it was all organised, we did so many different things. Epic vacation! Looking to partake in adventure activities with other rad people in the most spectacular of settings? Sign up for a tour with Adventure Junkies. The South Island is full of endless stunning lakes and mountains. With these as your backdrop, you can zip line, raft (class 5 rapids), hike, kayak, skydive, bungee jump, rock climb, jet boat and bike to your hearts content....... your stellar guide, is professional, accommodating and organized. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe at all times. All accommodations were clean and comfortable...... one even had an outdoor hot tub. Russ brought us to charming spots for delicious breakfasts and lunches and always had recommendations for great places to grab post activity beers or dinner...... I was heartbroken to say goodbye to NZ and will definitely be returning for another Adventure Junkies tour, regardless of the fact that it is completely across the world from my home. ...more ...less

Wow. Don’t miss these guys for a brilliant experience. I’ve travelled around the globe, last count about 35 countries and I have never had a more dedicated guide and service provider or a greater quality of service anywhere. Russ is the best! Amazing experiences, brilliant fun and a fantastic balance between casual and funny raconteur and professional guide. I bet you could do any of the experiences he provides and it would be magnificent. I did Routeburn canyoning, Rangitata rafting, multiple hikes, zip lining, etc all fantastic. Even time between gigs was fun. Great accommodations and wonderful attention to all the details with flexibility when needed. Hats off to you Russ. You Rock! ...more ...less
